Burnt Wood Brush.

Years ago, while drawing Swamp Thing, I had to draw burned tree. Being unsatisfied with any of my various attempts I figure I could probably make up a custom brush for it to save the day. It was my first of many custom brushes and it’s time to share it we you, my loyal followers.

After taking and thresholding photos of Actual burned wood I ended up creating two flavors.

A textual one

And a slightly more abstract version.

which is probably more recognizable when as burnt wood while inverted.

Both of them are Ribbon based brush in CSP.

Still on my Swamp thing run, turn out that brush does pretty cool Killer crock scales

I’ve been using it in cave a lot. It give a nice gritty texture.
